1. Blueprint Phase
When a new SAP project starts, the first important step is to understand the company’s requirements. This is called the Blueprint phase, where all business processes must be mapped and documented. Having a clear understanding of the company’s operations is essential for a successful go-live.

2. System Configuration
SAP comes with a standard configuration, but it must be adjusted based on the company’s specific needs. The system should be configured to meet all required parameters.

3. Testing Phase (QA Environment)
After the configuration is completed according to the blueprint, it’s time to run tests in the QA environment to make sure everything works as expected. At this point, key users from each department should be trained by the support team. Key users are essential during testing because they deeply understand the business processes.

4. End-User Training
Once testing is completed and the system is adjusted, the IT team and key users begin training the end users. All training sessions should be documented. It’s important to prepare manuals and step-by-step guides for all users.

5. Go-Live
The go-live is the most critical date for everyone involved in the project. It’s the moment of truth, when the entire team expects to see the process running at 100%, from sales order creation to invoicing.

The Implementation Guide (IMG) is the main tool used to configure the SAP system. It is accessed via transaction SPRO. The IMG shows all system areas (SD, MM, FI, etc.) in a clear structure to customize each part based on business needs.

2. Why is IMG important?
In the configuration phase of the project, consultants use the IMG to define parameters and adjust SAP to the company’s processes. In SAP SD, the IMG is used to set up things like:
